As the owner of Sunset Services LLC., Jared aspires to offer a multitude of services to help people live happier lives. Sunset Home Service is the flagship service offered by the company. 

He offers you over 10 years of general home maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and gardening experience. Jared began his journey with building things early in childhood helping with projects around his small family farm in Shelley, Idaho. His formal construction/home repair experience began at 20 years old when he set out to build his mother a new home after his childhood house burned down. That project lead to a job as an apprentice electrician. There he worked for almost a year wiring houses and commercial properties. Feeling like he needed to go to college, Jared left the trades to attend school at Brigham Young University – Idaho to obtain a Bachelors in Science for Agronomy, Crop and Soil Science. 

While attending college, he worked as a maintenance tech from 2014 to 2020 for a company that owned multiple rental properties in Rexburg. Some of the properties being larger apartment complexes such as Hillcrest Townhouses and The Towers. While there, he learned the importance of quality work in a timely manner. 

After graduating college in the summer of 2018, Jared began working full time with the Idaho Department of Water resources (IDWR) as a Water Resource Agent and Assistant Water Master for Water Districts 100 and 110 located in the Rexburg and Mud Lake areas. In 2023 he transferred to IDWR’s Western Region with the office in Boise. 

Jared left IDWR in 2024 and worked for Farmland Reserve Inc. as a Land Management Associate, where he assisted the Land Manager in effectively managing properties that were leased out to farmers. After only 5 months there, Jared decided the best place for him was a public servant and began working at USDA/NRCS.

Even though he works a day job, Jared is still very passionate about all things home and property repair and sees a need for a professional handyman service in the Treasure Valley area that can tackle your projects after the sun sets.
